![]() ![]() The whole thing is structured to have the player character feel like they are saving her, whether physically or mentally or whatever. People involved in her quest talk to the player character like some parent or sibling giving someone a "if you hurt her" kind of talk, only it's in terms of "you might have to hurt her I know we are all very sad about it, possibly saddest about it of all the things in this game, but this terribly tragic death of Lohse might need to happen, so be prepared." It's a classic damsel in distress situation, where the damsel desperately needs the hero to hold her hand and tell her they love her, and she is incredibly passive throughout it, right up until the end of her quest (but even that is dictated by the player's decision, the burden of which is of course framed as unfair to hoist onto Lohse). ![]() ![]() No other companion has a unique relationship with an allied NPC like that (not even Fane!?!, who you have to play as to get any insight but as a companion is very minimally integrated). This is revealed whether you play as her or just have her as a companion you cannot avoid it if you do her quest. She has special dialogue with one (and another optional) major allies of the game, who even talks about Lohse being their favorite and is only involved with Lohse's quest out of all the origins and has no unique relationship with any other origin character. Man, it still ticks me off to think about it. Hello! No worries about bringing it up from a long while ago. Rhalic had dialog to that effect, at least, when they met the first time after the Trompdoy stuff. (It's actually very frustrating that the game seems to hard-code Ifan as romantically interested in Lohse, if she's in the party. There's nothing yet about the specifics of his backstory with the elves. Makes me want to do a LW playthrough with just the two of them, complete with romance.ĭon't know anything with them past Act 1 yet, but I can tell you that Ifan's Lone Wolf connection comes up between them a couple of times in Act 1. I started an Ifan main playthrough to see what it was like to play as an Origin character, and I really like his chemistry with Sebille.
